Team Viking Messaging Terms and Conditions

  1. The messaging program consists of informational text messages from Team Viking related to our services and your relationship with us, including replies to your inquiries and customer support, service scheduling and job updates, quote and invoice notifications, recruitment and onboarding communications, and operational or safety notices.
  2. You can cancel the SMS service at any time. Just text 'STOP' to the phone number from which you received messages. After you send the SMS message 'STOP' to us, we will send you an SMS message to confirm that you have been unsubscribed. After this, you will no longer receive SMS messages from us. If you want to join again, just sign up as you did the first time and we will start sending SMS messages to you again.
  3. If you are experiencing issues with the messaging program you can reply with the keyword HELP for more assistance, or you can get help directly at info@teamviking.com or 1-844-845-4643.
  4. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
  5. As always, message and data rates may apply for any messages sent to you from us and to us from you. Message frequency will vary based on communication needs. If you have any questions about your text plan or data plan, it is best to contact your wireless provider.
  6. If you have any questions regarding privacy, please read our privacy policy at https://privacy.teamviking.com.

Who receives text messages

Clients and their site and project contacts, prospective clients, job applicants and employees who have agreed to receive texts from Team Viking, or who text a Team Viking number first. We do not send marketing or promotional text messages, and we do not buy, rent or use purchased contact lists.

How to opt in

Submit the Communication Preferences form at https://privacy.teamviking.com/sms and choose “Yes” for text messages, give consent on a Team Viking form or to a Team Viking representative, or text START to a Team Viking number. Consent is not a condition of purchasing any service or of employment.

We also treat REVOKE, OPT OUT and any other reasonable request to stop as an opt-out. You can also opt out by choosing “No” for text messages on the Communication Preferences page or by contacting info@teamviking.com. Texting STOP stops texts from that number right away, and we take reasonable steps to apply your opt-out to our other business texting numbers promptly, and within 10 business days.

Your mobile number and delivery

You must be the account holder or an authorized user of the mobile number you provide. Tell us promptly, or text STOP from the number, if it changes, passes to someone else or is no longer in use. Messages are available on most Canadian and U.S. wireless carriers, but delivery is not guaranteed. Neither Team Viking nor the carriers are responsible for delayed or undelivered messages.

How messages are sent

Messages may be sent by our staff, or by automated systems for scheduled reminders and notices. STOP and HELP replies are handled automatically; other replies are not monitored at all times. We may change, suspend or end the messaging program, or change the numbers we use, at any time.

If you opt out

Opting out of texts does not end your relationship with us. Where needed for your service, job application, employment or safety, we may contact you another way, such as by phone, email or in person.

2. Email

What we send

Informational emails related to our services and your relationship with us: replies to your inquiries and customer support, quotes, invoices and statements, service scheduling and job updates, recruitment and onboarding communications, operational or safety notices, and notices about our policies. Email frequency varies with communication needs. We send promotional emails only as Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation permits, and each one includes a way to unsubscribe.

By giving us your email address for these purposes, for example on a web form, in a quote request, contract, job application or onboarding form; by choosing “Yes” for email on the Communication Preferences page; or as otherwise permitted by Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL), such as emails needed to provide a quote you asked for, complete a transaction or deliver a service you requested.

How to unsubscribe

Use the unsubscribe link or instructions in the email, reply asking to unsubscribe, choose “No” for email on the Communication Preferences page, or contact info@teamviking.com. We act on unsubscribe requests within 10 business days. Unsubscribing stops optional emails, meaning emails we do not need to send for a quote, transaction, service, job application or employment you are part of. We may still send those emails, and emails the law requires.

How to recognize our emails

Our emails identify Team Viking (Viking CIP Ltd. o/a Team Viking) and include a way to contact us. They come from teamviking.com addresses, our automated notices come from notify.teamviking.com, and some notices, such as invoices, forms and scheduling notices, are sent in Team Viking’s name through our service providers’ systems. Our practice is not to ask for passwords or payment card details by email or text; if you receive such a request, check with us first. If a message claiming to be from Team Viking looks suspicious, do not open its links or attachments; forward it to info@teamviking.com or call us before you act on it.

3. Emergencies, safety and sensitive information

Not for emergencies. Texts and emails are not monitored around the clock and are not an emergency or incident-reporting service. In an emergency, call 9-1-1. Report incidents, hazards and near misses as your site procedures require. A text or email does not replace site emergency procedures, safety data sheets, permits or your supervisor’s instructions, and you should not rely on a text or email alone for time-critical safety information.

Sensitive information. Ordinary text messages and email are not secure. Do not send social insurance numbers, banking or payment card details, passwords or health information by text or ordinary email; ask us for a secure way to send them.

Messages sent in error. Our messages are meant only for the intended recipient and may be confidential. If you receive one by mistake, please tell us and delete it.

4. Privacy

Data Sharing

Email addresses are not sold, rented or shared with third parties for their own marketing.

Our full Privacy Policy is at https://privacy.teamviking.com.
